The Event

Hoops Against Hunger is an annual event that is held during the fall. With each Mini-Camp, volunteers organize an information exchange to build a network of community members who may also choose to find other ways of serving their community. Each year, the program plans to grow as more organizations host their own local Mini-Camps.

What are the benefits?

Local community centers and schools gain a new program that builds volunteerism and encourages community service. The event brings together a broad spectrum of diverse members of the community. Corporate sponsors, high school students, local coaches, community volunteers, and parents all come together to support a worthy cause.

Additionally, participants are asked to make a voluntary donation of non-perishable food, which is given to local, charitable organizations. By doing so, participants give back to their communities by helping those in need.
